RadioVal Featured in Expert-Led Webinar on AI in Clinical Practice

A webinar hosted yesterday by the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) brought together experts from across Europe to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is being applied in clinical settings.

Part of the ongoing EIBIR Webinar Series, the session titled Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Clinical Decision-Making: Insights from Leading European Research Initiatives featured presentations from three EU-funded projects – ODELIA, SHERPA, and RadioVal – each demonstrating how AI is helping to improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline workflows, and support treatment planning.

RadioVal was among the key contributors to the event, with a presentation by Prof. Oliver Diaz, Co-Coordinator of the project. His keynote focused on the FUTURE-AI guideline, a framework designed to support the development of trustworthy and transparent AI in healthcare. Prof. Diaz highlighted the importance of explainability and traceability in the context of breast cancer imaging, underlining RadioVal’s work in validating AI tools for clinical use.

The session offered valuable insights for healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers interested in the ethical and practical aspects of integrating AI into medical practice. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and responsible innovation, the event reflected growing interest in how data-driven technologies can enhance patient care across Europe.
