RadioVal presented in Geneva Summer School lecture

SHINE presented the RadioVal project in a Geneva Summer School lecture

During a lecture on July 6th, at the University of Geneva’s Center for Informatics (CUI) – QoL Technologies, the RadioVal project was presented and discussed with a diverse group of Ph.D. students, care professionals, and social scientists attending the Summer School programme. Natália Machado, representing SHINE 2Europe, presented the project and shed light on its ethical considerations.

Under the theme of ” Enhancing Inclusion of Vulnerable End-Users for the Development of Efficient and Trustworthy Technologies”, participants engaged in discussions surrounding the RadioVal project, and how it is addressing ethical challenges in the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The focal point of the conversation was ethics and the built of trustworthy technologies, with a specific focus on including end-users in the development process.

Students exhibited great enthusiasm as they actively contributed to the dialogue, recognizing the importance of involving end-users at every stage of tools development. Brainstorming sessions paved the way for potential solutions to overcome obstacles that could impede the seamless implementation of the RadioVal system. By addressing ethical concerns head-on and promoting inclusive development practices, the RadioVal project aims to contribute for making a tangible difference in the lives of breast cancer patients.
